How to utilise the space in a small bathroom

A modern bathroom is a perfect space for relaxing and de-stressing after a long day. However, not everyone is fortunate enough to have an unlimited amount of space. Therefore, choosing the right lighting, colours, as well as fixture and fittings will help to make the most out of the smallest of rooms.

We are here to give you some tips to enable you to maximise your bathroom’s space. If you follow these tips it will give your room a feel of luxury, with all the functioning essentials you need.

Colours

Choosing the right colours for the walls will help to prevent the room from feeling dingy and cramped. A bathroom designer would pick pale and light colours, however, would not overcompensate and use an array of colours. If you do feel like your bathroom design needs several colours then think about making one wall a feature, full of colour.

Optimising Storage

Creating a cluttered room will automatically make the room feel smaller. Therefore, filling the space correctly with storage will be a step in the right direction. Firstly, within your bathroom design use the space around the sink to fit in a cupboard which can hide away your toiletries.  A bathroom fitting specialists would be able to install a towel rack, you can neatly place them away whilst keeping them at arms reach, it can also double up as a heat source too.

Hanging baskets can be placed onto the door to create added storage, shampoos and conditioners can be placed in these giving the whole family their own space. Be creative and get younger children to decorate there’s, this will give them added reason to keep their belongings tidy.

Mirrors

Mirrors are key to creating the feeling of space, positioning your mirror strategically next to the window, will reflect the light perfectly around the room. Moreover, you could arrange several mirrors to give the room an artistic touch.

Sliding Shower Doors

To utilising the space of your bathroom traditional hinged doors should not be included in your bathroom design as it removes a lot of space when they are open. Therefore, sliding doors will not only provide the floors with protection from the water, being able to see through to the wall will help to make your bathroom look bigger and keep cleaning simple.
